"Fujifilm has long been recognized as an innovator and together with key partners we are pushing the boundaries of AI technology to support radiologists and the healthcare enterprise," said Johann Fernando, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. "At RSNA, we are excited to showcase our impressive progress in AI as well as accelerate AI education for healthcare providers."

Under the REiLI brand, Fujifilm is developing AI technologies that strongly support diagnostic imaging workflow, leveraging the combination of deep learning in its AI technology with Fujifilm's image processing heritage. Applications currently in development include but are not limited to: Region Recognition, an AI technology to accurately recognize and consistently extract organ regions, regardless of deviations in shape, presence or absence of disease, and imaging conditions; Computer Aided Detection, an AI technology to reduce the time of image interpretation and support radiologists' clinical decision making; Workflow Support, using AI technology to realize optimal study prioritization, alert communications of AI findings, and report population automation.

"The depth and scope of our REiLI brand is growing stronger everyday thanks to insights gained from our strategic Synapse customers as well as collaborations with researchers at prestigious medical institutes," said Bill Lacy, Vice President of Medical Informatics at FUJIFILM Medical Systems, U.S.A., Inc. "Our goal is to provide an open platform which manages the workflow and delivery of AI technologies through Synapse clinical applications enabled for AI results and use cases, and realize a new and more powerful diagnostic workflow that advances the field of radiology."

RSNA attendees are encouraged to learn more about REiLI at Booth #2545 and participate in the following Fujifilm-hosted activities:

In-Booth Artificial Intelligence Laboratory
At booth #2545, attendees can visit Fujifilm's in-booth AI Lab. The lab will feature dedicated workstations demonstrating AI platform use cases within Synapse 5 PACS driven by REiLI. This is an exciting opportunity for attendees to witness first-hand the speed and depth of integrated workflows achieved with Fujifilm's REiLI technology coupled with the Synapse 5 server-side PACS system.

Educational Symposium—"AI Powering Enterprise Imaging"
This educational symposium will explore the impact that AI has on enterprise imaging today and what to expect tomorrow. Featuring a panel discussion by industry thought leaders, attendees will learn about current applications as well as the development of AI algorithms and desired clinical impacts. An interactive session, participants will also have the chance to ask questions and delve into the infrastructure planning required to enable AI throughout the enterprise.

This free event will take place on Monday, November 26th from 6:30PM-9:00PM at Marriott Marquis, conveniently located just steps from McCormick Place. Complimentary dinner and refreshments will be served. Space is limited. To register, visit rsna.fujimed.com/ai-symposium.

Fujifilm AI News:
With the goal to accelerate AI development, Fujifilm entered a joint research agreement with Indiana University School of Medicine in August to develop the application of AI in medical imaging diagnostic support systems. Designed to support physicians by detecting suspicious lesions in images, comparing results with prior studies and implementing semi-automated reporting, this AI application is expected to increase significantly the efficiency of diagnostic medical imaging in patient care.

Fujifilm's AI Research Project is based in Raleigh, North Carolina—the global development headquarters for Fujifilm's Synapse Enterprise Imaging portfolio—in collaboration with Fujifilm Corporation's development team in Tokyo that provides a wide range of image recognition technologies. In an increasingly complex healthcare environment with massive datasets and rising demand for high-quality care, AI technology has the potential to change the practice of medicine.
