ENGLISH - Medexprim integrates ArchiMed in its offer to support research projects using biomedical imaging

29 November 17, 2017

Medexprim combines the ArchiMed platform with its Radiomics Enabler® solution to facilitate the collection and management of imaging data in retrospective and prospective clinical studies.

The CIC-IT Nancy (http://www.cic-it-nancy.fr) conceived and developed the ArchiMed platform:
a database dedicated to storing imaging data with a “study-centered” approach. It allows to comply with the legal and regulatory conservation obligations, centralize all data types (not limited to the DICOM format) facilitates quality assurance processes, organizes data on a per-study / per investigator basis, and can be interfaced with any image post processing research tool.

Medexprim’s Radiomics Enabler® is an "ETL /Extract Transform Load" solution for biomedical imaging. It automates the qualification and extraction of relevant imaging sequences from any PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), de-identifies them and routes them to a research pipeline. Radiomics Enabler® integrates with a Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW) (see Medexprim/ Sword joint press release) to easily combine clinical and imaging data for a patient cohort defined in the CDW.

In the fall of 2017, the CIC-IT Nancy and Medexprim joined forces to integrate both technologies and expertise.  The combination of Radiomics Enabler® with the ArchiMed platform allows to optimize research activities involving medical imaging, enhancing quality, security and performance.  Medexprim deploys and adapts its solutions to each research project or research center, and provides user support in conjunction with the CIC-IT.

About Medexprim and CIC-IT Nancy

Medexprim (http://www.medexprim.com) is a startup created end of 2015, with the mission to facilitate the exploitation of biomedical image archives for research. Its solution Radiomics Enabler ® was initially co developed with a major research institution, the CHU Toulouse, where pilot projects were conducted prior to a first commercial release in the spring of 2017, and got released open source in November 2017.

The CIC-IT Nancy (http://www.cic-it-nancy.fr/en/ ) is a public research center affiliated with the University Hospital Nancy, and INSERM, member of a network of 8 specialized centers of excellence dedicated to foster clinical trials in university hospitals, with a specific and expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). For 10 years the CIC-IT Nancy has validated and valorized medical devices and new MRI data acquisition and processing tools. ArchiMed initially developed and deployed to serve the CIC-IT internal needs, is also available to third parties.
