HealthMyne, Inc. and University of Wisconsin Move Forward with Imaging Informatics Implementation

August 11, 2015 10:11 AM Eastern Daylight Time

MADISON, Wis--HealthMyne, Inc., a clinical imaging informatics company, has agreed to a second phase of imaging informatics solution development with the University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics. Aligning with the ACR (American College of Radiology) Imaging 3.0 initiative, collaborations will focus on advancing radiological workflow and clinical analysis through increased image quantification, cohort comparison, and streamlined patient-centered views of data. Cancer patients will be the first patient population targeted.

“We have a great shared vision with the UW regarding how imaging analytics and patient data integration can be made most useful for radiologists and their referring clinicians,” stated Praveen Sinha, HealthMyne CEO. “There are lots of big data opportunities available but we are zeroing in on those that add both operational efficiency and true clinical value. This will make for the greatest impact.”

The first phase centered on the creation of a clinical imaging repository. “A large volume and high velocity of data is involved in our daily workflow. Right now we are processing between 10-12 million images per month,” according to Richard Bruce M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology and Medical Director of Radiology Informatics, University of Wisconsin. “It is exciting to look beyond the repository and toward leveraging the accumulating information in a very positive way. Being able to easily access reliable tumor progression data for an individual patient, and then compare that individual to a similar cohort of patients in real-time will be powerful.”
